community.<\/p>\n It is disheartening to witness the hesitation and opposition towards an initiative that has the potential to enrich our community in so many ways. People with disabilities deserve a place where they can live comfortably, with easy access to the services they need and the peace of mind that comes with a supportive environment. Our town offers flat, paved areas that are perfect for individuals with mobility challenges, and it\u2019s a location where they can thrive.<\/p>\n On a personal note, I have two sisters with disabilities, one of whom passed away in April. The loss is still fresh, and I often think about how much it would have meant to have a place like this for her here in Sorell. A home where she could have lived close to her family, surrounded by a community that values her presence.<\/p>\n My children have been incredibly enriched by their relationships with my sisters. They are kinder, more empathetic, and more understanding because of the time they’ve spent with them. Anyone who is scared or wary of people with disabilities simply hasn\u2019t taken the time to truly get to know them. They are among the most beautiful souls you will ever meet.<\/p>\n I am the person I am today because of my sisters, and I firmly believe that integrating NDIS clients into our community would not only benefit them but also enrich the lives of everyone here. We have a chance to create a more inclusive, compassionate community.
